Antonio Scognamiglio, tenor and webmaster (September
1995 - December 2017) of the Corale Quadriclavio
My son Francesco founded the Corale Quadriclavio in September 1995.
In principle, I was not interested in performing that kind of music
(even if I liked the music itself. In fact, I always considered -
and still consider - the final choir of the Matthäus-Passion
by J.S. Bach, Wir setzen uns, as the most beautiful piece of
music ever written). But once
he came to tell me that there was no bass for the rehearsal (the
choir was still very young and consisted of just a dozen people). He
asked me to sing that evening as a bass in order to allow the choir
to rehearse. I did. And I understood that I liked it. So I became a
steady member of the choir (of course, I started then to sing as a
tenor, for my voice is not suitable for the bass part) and remained
in the choir until December 2017.
I also became webmaster of the choir and created its website.
In 1998 my son passed the direction of the choir to Lorenzo
Bizzarri, who is still the director.

Italy for a tour and contacts the Corale
Quadriclavio for organizing their stay in Bologna

April 25th, 2003
The theater of Budrio (province of Bologna) programs
the "Bohème" opera by Giacomo Puccini. The orchestra
conductor is Giovanni Montanaro, friend of the
Corale Quadriclavio. He asks our choir to sing the
choral parts of the opera. And we accept. The
theater director is the famous Italian actor Paolo
Poli.
